Lynn Forbes: 'They say it would get easier. That’s just not true'
Updated | By Tamlyn Canham
This time of the year is particularly difficult for those who have lost loved ones.
Lynn Forbes is preparing for her first Christmas without her son, 'Kiernan 'AKA' Forbes.
The rapper was shot and killed on Florida Road in Durban earlier this year. His friend, Tebello 'Tibz' Motsoane, also lost his life in what police have described as a hit.
No arrests have been made.
Lynn and the rest of the Forbes family, including AKA's daughter Kairo Forbes, have been adjusting to life without the 'All Eyes On Me' hitmaker as best they can.
She took to Instagram to share a picture of herself dancing with her son in matching pyjamas during their last Christmas together.
"They say it would get easier. That’s just not true for me. Why?" she asked.

Lynn's followers took to the comments section to send her messages of encouragement.
"Some days will be better than others with time. It will never [be] easier though. It's a lifetime pain but God is in control...Hang on to the [beautiful] and special love memories you made together mama. Sending luv," one woman wrote.
Another follower commented: "True love will never be easy to let go mama take all the time you need to heal."

Lynn also opened up about the grieving process during a recent episode of 'DJ Zinhle: The Unexpected'.
DJ Zinhle is AKA's ex-girlfriend and the mother of their daughter Kairo.
Lynn revealed that she kept the bloodied sneakers that AKA was wearing on the night that he was murdered.
She admitted that she is not ready to let go of some of his things.
"What do I do with these shoes? These are the shoes he was wearing. I mean, it has his blood on it... I have to go through this stuff and get rid of things that I am not necessarily ready to get rid of," a tearful Lynn said on the show.
