Lizzo hit with another bullying and harassment lawsuit

Lizzo has been accused of allowing her dancers, background vocalists, and other staff to be bullied and harassed in a new lawsuit filed this week.

According to NBC News, former employee Asha Daniels is suing the 'Truth Hurts' singer and other members of her team. The fashion designer said she felt like she was living in a madhouse. "It was totally shocking," she was quoted as saying.

Most of Asha's complaints seem to centre around the behaviour of Lizzo's wardrobe manager, Amanda Nomura, whom she said called performers "fat", "useless", and "dumb".

Asha also accused Amanda of forcing dancers to change their clothing in front of a "mostly white, male stage crew".

She further claimed that she was fired after she complained. "Lizzo is the boss, so the buck stops with her,” her lawyer Ron Zambrano told NBC News.

Lizzo's spokesperson hit back at the "bogus, absurd publicity-stunt lawsuit". "We will pay this as much attention as it deserves. None.”

This is the second lawsuit that has been filed against Lizzo. Three former employees accused the 35-year-old of sexual harassment and fat-shaming dancers less than two months ago.

One of the most shocking allegations from the lawsuit involves a trip to a club called Bananenbar in Amsterdam's Red Light District. Lizzo allegedly forced one of the dancers to touch nude performers.

“While at Bananenbar, things quickly got out of hand. Lizzo began inviting cast members to take turns touching the nude performers, catching dildos launched from the performers’ vaginas, and eating bananas protruding from the performers’ vaginas," the lawsuit states.

Lizzo responded to the "false" allegations in a statement shared on her Instagram account.

"These sensationalized stories are coming from former employees who have already publicly admitted that they were told that their behaviour on tour was inappropriate and unprofessional... I am not here to be looked at as a victim, but I also know that I am not the villain that people and the media have portrayed me to be these last few days," she said.
