Updated | By Tamlyn Canham
The amapiano remix of Ed Sheeran's 'Bad Habits' is our new favourite jam.
South Africa's amapiano music is taking over the world. Ed Sheeran and Jorja Smith both released amapiano-inspired songs this week.
Ed teamed up with South African producer Munashe 'Kooldrink' Kugarakuripi to remix 'Bad Habits'.
Kooldrink also worked on Tyla's pop-piano hit, 'Getting Late'.
"This is the coolest and biggest opportunity I’ve ever had with my career. I vow to take Amapiano to the World. #ThankYou @EdSheeran for the opportunity. I’m happy you love it too,” Kooldrink tweeted.

Another British singer is also jumping on the amapiano genre. Jorja Smith dropped ‘All of This’ this week.
The song features amapiano beats. Ghanaian producer, DJ GuiltyBeatz, introduced her to the South African sound.
“I met [Guilty] when I went over to Port Antonio in Jamaica for a writing camp in 2019. He’s so wonderful to work with and when we initially started the song, it was more a fall to the floor type beat.
"He’s shared Amapiano playlists with me before and then during the first lockdown in 2020, he sent me a version of the song like it is now. It’s all about someone who doesn’t deserve you and thinking wow, you really had all of my once, ew," Jorja said in a statement.
