The 'Feel Good' singer has distanced herself from social media posts claiming that she is affiliated with the MK party...
South African singer Lira is weighing up her legal options after a post shared online suggested she supports the uMkhonto we Sizwe (MK) party.
A YouTube post featuring images of the star claimed she had joined the party.
"I wish to confirm that I have no affiliation with MK Party. I have not endorsed them or become an MKP member. Any information to the contrary is fake news," Lira wrote on Instagram.
She added that her likeness was illegally used to promote the post.
"I am exploring my legal options about the unlawful use of my image and name."

MORE FROM EAST COAST RADIO:
Lira's followers accused the party of being desperate for clout.
One user wrote: "That’s desperation, though. Not cool sorry ausi." Another user added: "They want to jump onto your credibility."
MK officials have denied creating the post. Nhlamulo Ndhlela, the party's spokesperson, says they are not linked to the person behind the post, nor do they know who created it.
"We don’t know who this person is that goes and creates an impression of the MK Party without anyone in our structures, national or provincial, knowing. We don’t know that person, who is labeling Lira as MK," Nhlamulo told The Citizen.
Former President Jacob Zuma has endorsed MK and features on some of their party merchandise.
The MK party is hoping to snatch a huge chunk of the ANC's votes in KwaZulu-Natal during the elections, which are taking place in May.
The ANC tried to remove MK from the ballot, but was unsuccessful.

She took to her Instagram page on Thursday to share an inspiring post.
