British singer Lily Allen is "really sorry" for her comments about Katy Perry's recent trip to space.

Perry was one of six women who flew to the Kármán line on Blue Origin's New Shepard human spaceflight on April 14.

Billionaire Jeff Bezos owns the aerospace company.

The 11-minute trip, which included Gayle King and Lauren Sánchez, was heavily criticised online, with model Emily Ratajkowski calling it a waste of money.

Actress Olivia Wilde was also unimpressed by the flight.

"Billion dollars bought some good memes, I guess," she said.

Allen also added her two cents on an episode of her 'Miss Me?' podcast. She called the trip "out of touch".

"Do we want to talk about Katy Perry and her mates all going up to space for 12 minutes?" she asked, per Us Weekly

"We’re on the brink of recession, people are really f****ing struggling to make ends meet and get food on their table."

However, in a recent episode of the 'Miss Me?' podcast, Allen expressed some regret for her words.

"I would actually like to apologise for being mean about Katy Perry last week. There was actually no need for me to bring her name into it, and it was my own internalised misogyny," she said.

Allen added that she's "been thinking about it a lot" and "it was just completely unnecessary" to single out Perry.

The 'Smile' singer still stands by her comments about the trip, but gave Perry a heartfelt apology.

"I do disagree with what it was that they did, but she wasn’t the only person that did it. Yeah, she was possibly the most famous and the one that divides people the most. There was something in me that decided to choose her," she said.

"I’m really sorry. I would have been hurt if it had been me and someone in my industry used me and my name. I'm sorry, Katy Perry."

Her co-host, Miquita Oliver, applauded her for righting her wrongs.
