Kim Engelbrecht bags an International Emmy nomination

Kim Engelbrecht is getting international recognition for her role in M-Net's award-winning crime series, 'Reyka'.
The South African received a 'Best Actress' nomination for the 2022 International Emmy (iEmmy)Awards.
The other actresses in the category are Lou de Laage (The Mad Women's Ball), Celine Buckens for (Showtrial) and Leticia Colin (Where My Heart Is).
The nod makes her the fifth African actress in history to be nominated. KZN-born actress Thuso Mbedu has received two iEmmy nominations for her role in 'Is’thunzi'. Brenda Ngxoli and Lerato Mvelase bagged a nomination for 'Home Affairs' in 2007 and 2010 respectively.

Kim's nomination came shortly after her big win at the SAFTAs. She also won 'Best Actress' for 'Reyka'.

Performers and programmes from 23 countries have received nominations for the upcoming iEmmys. There are a total of 60 nominees.
"When you look at the geographic spread, diversity and quality of our Nominees, it becomes obvious that great television knows no borders and is emerging around the world. We look forward to recognizing these outstanding programs and performances on our global stage with the International Emmy®," International Academy President & CEO, Bruce Paisner, said in a statement.
The 50th International Emmy Awards Gala will be taking place in New York City on November 21.
