Kim Cattrall reveals "heartbreaking" reason why she ditched 'Sex and the City'
Kim Cattrall says a plotline involving a 14-year-old boy sending her inapproprate pictures was the final straw.
Kim Cattrall's role as Samantha Jones in 'Sex And The City' was one of TV's most iconic characters. But the 65-year-old was noticeably absent when HBO Max aired a reboot of the hit series called 'And Just Like That'.
Many believed her alleged feud with co-star, Sarah Jessica Parker, was the reason for her being left out of the spinoff. Kim told Variety magazine in a recent interview that she was never contacted.
"I was never asked to be part of the reboot. I made my feelings clear after the possible third movie, so I found out about it like everyone else did — on social media," she told Variety.
Her character's absence was explained in the first episode of the reboot. Samantha moved to London after Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sarah, fired her as her publicist.
Sarah told Variety earlier this year that she wouldn't be okay with Kim making a comeback in season two of 'And Just Like That' in the future.
"I think there’s just too much public history of feelings on her part that she’s shared."

Kim also talked about the disturbing reason she decided not to return for a third movie. She says Samantha's plotline for the film did not sit well with her.
Kim says Miranda Hobbes’ teenage son, Brady, was supposed to send Samantha unwanted pictures of his manhood.
She called the storyline "heartbreaking". Kim made it clear that she will never return to the 'Sex And The City" franchise.
Despite being MIA in the 'And Just Like That' reboot, Kim has been hard at work on other projects. She recently starred in Hulu’s 'How I Met Your Father ' spinoff starring Hilary Duff.
The actress will also make an appearance in Peacock TV’s 'Queer as Folk' reboot in June.
