It's been a tough year, but not by "normal" people's standards. Check out Khanyi's version of a "downgraded" home.
Celebrities have not been immune to the financial implications of COVID-19. Khanyi Mbau is one of the many stars feeling the pinch.
The TV host told a fan on Twitter that she is not living as large as she was pre-coronavirus pandemic.
The entertainment industry came to a standstill for months as a result of a nationwide lockdown. As if that wasn't bad enough, she was unable to sell her I AM Khanyi Millenial Shimmer Gin due to alcohol restrictions.
"It’s become extremely difficult and has affected my pockets deeply... This is money that is necessary for both me and my daughter, there is no recovery this year, it’s big. All a loss,” she told The Citizen in August.
Her fans were naturally shocked when she showed off her new house in the latest episode of her reality show, 'Mbau Reloaded: Always Rise'.
One Twitter user noted that in the previous episode, she spoke about her financial issues, but yet here she was flaunting her amazing home.
"Previous episode you said that "things have been tough for you this year, and also considering the pandemic, and that you moved into a new home"... you made moving into a new home sound like a downgrade, but suddenly it's an upgrade on 2nd episode," the tweep wrote.
Khanyi assured the user that she was indeed cutting back on her lifestyle due to the pandemic.
"Bro I downgraded, my previous place was massive."

Khanyi's posh new home would be considered an upgrade for most people, but for the 'Queen of Bling', it was a step down from what she is used to.
