Kevin Costner's wife seeks R4.5m a month in child support

The actor's soon-to-be ex-wife says $248,000 (R4.5-million) is actually "less than the amount needed to maintain the children in their accustomed lifestyle".
Kevin Costner's divorce from his estranged wife Christine Baumgartner is getting messier by the day.
Christine is allegedly seeking $248,000 (R4,5-million) per month in child support payments, according to People magazine.
The former couple has three children together - 16-year-old Cayden, 14-year-old Hayes, and 13-year-old Grace.
Details of Christine's requests were laid bare in court documents. The former model and handbag designer also requested that Kevin pay 100% of their children's school fees.
According to People, Christine stated that the amount she is requesting for child support "is less than the amount needed to maintain the children in their accustomed lifestyle".
She revealed that 'The Bodyguard' star allegedly made $19.5-million (R359-million) in 2022, and took home a cool $7.6-million (R140-million) after taxes and expenses.

Christine filed for divorce in May after 18 years of marriage. Several weeks after the filing, news broke that she is refusing to move out of their $145-million (R2.6-billion) mansion.
The former couple reportedly has a prenuptial agreement in place that requires her to leave the property within 30 days in the event of a separation.
According to the Daily Mail, the agreement makes provisions for Christine to receive $1.2-million (R22-million) to find a new home - which the 'Yellowstone' actor has allegedly paid already.
The prenup was reportedly signed in 2004, the same year they tied the knot. Christine is said to be contesting the prenuptial agreement.

Kevin has already agreed to pay $38,000 (R700, 000) in child support every month, as well “100% of certain child-related costs, including private school tuition, books, fees and uniforms and school trips, children’s sports, camps and other agreed upon extracurricular activities", according to People.
In her court declaration, Christine stated that she is a full-time housewife who cooks and cleans for their children. She does, however, admit to getting some help.
"Our children's lifestyle has been supported by a house manager who supports and assists with the logistics of the children's activities, b. A person who assists with grocery shopping and meal preparation; and c. A housekeeper who assists with cleaning and laundry," Yahoo quoted her as stating.
