Kevin Costner ex-wife demands increase in child support payments
Updated | By Tamlyn Canham
The actor's wife has requested that he pays over R3-million per month to ensure their children enjoy the same lifestyle as their famous father.
Kevin Costner and his estranged wife Christine Baumgartner will head to court this week to iron out some of the details of their divorce agreement.
According to TMZ, Christine is requesting an increase in the monthly child support payments she receives from the 'Yellowstone' actor.
The fashion designer currently receives $129k (R2.4-million) per month for their three teenage children, Cayden, Hayes, and Grace.
She is asking for a $46,0000 (R857,888) increase for a total monthly payment of $175,057 (R3.2-million).
"Forensics has determined that [Kevin's] average cash flow available for support for the two-year period of 2021 and 2022 was $19,248,467 per year ($1,604,039 per month). Based on this cash flow, and a 50/50 parenting time share, the guideline child support, which is presumptively correct under California law, is $175,057 per month," People magazine quoted legal documents filed by Christine's team.
The papers added the increase would ensure that the former couple's children "will continue to have the benefit of the lifestyle that has been made possible by Kevin’s substantial earnings and wealth".

Christine filed for divorce in May after 18 years of marriage. She originally asked for R4.5 million a month in child support payments.
A judge ordered her to move out of Kevin's $145-million Santa Barbara mansion as per their prenup, which gave her 30 days to vacate the property.
Kevin paid $1.2-million to help Christine find a new home. She reportedly has plans to move into a $40,000 (R746,000) per month rental in September.
