Jennifer Lopez uses her hit song 'Love Don't Cost a Thing' to send a hilarious message to potential suitors—we think!
The 55-year-old singer released the song in 2000 as the lead single from her sophomore album 'J.Lo'.
"Think you gotta keep me iced? You don't/ Think I'm gonna spend your cash? I won't/ Even if you were broke, my love don't cost a thing/ Think I wanna drive your Benz? I don't/ If I wanna floss, I got my own/ Even if you were broke, my love don't cost a thing," she sings.
Well, that was over 20 years and several heartbreaks ago. Yesterday's price is also not today's price.
Lopez co-signed a funny meme poking fun at the current state of the U.S. economy and the potential risks of global tariff hikes on consumer prices.
"Due to inflation, my love will now be costing a thing," the post read.
With a net worth of over $150 million, Lopez doesn't need to worry about the price of food or her energy bill.
However, she certainly has paid the price for falling in love. In 2024, the singer filed for divorce from her fourth husband, Ben Affleck.
Bennifer 2.0 was meant to be her happy ever after - a second chance at love. However, the romance fizzled after just two years of marriage.
"She tried really hard to make things work and is heartbroken," a source told People.
Lopez did not ask for spousal support in the divorce, and Affleck, who is also worth a pretty penny, did not either.
However, she reportedly paid her second husband, Cris Judd, a $14 million settlement when they parted ways eight months after saying their I do's.
Ironically, Judd appeared as a backup dancer in her music video for 'Love Don't Cost a Thing'.
Love is undoubtedly a costly affair in more ways than one. Lopez's fans not only found her post amusing, but they also agreed that their love does cost a thing.
