Jennifer Lopez claps back at Botox claims: "Get you some JLO Beauty"
Updated | By Tamlyn Canham
It's olive oil! JLO insists her youthful skin is down to her use of olive oil - the hero ingredient in her new skincare line.
Jennifer Lopez did not waste time clapping back at an Instagram user who suggested her "glow and gorgeous" skin was thanks to Botox and not her new anti-aging JLO Beauty range.
The drama started when the 'Jenny From The Block' singer shared a video of herself trying out the limitless glow mask - which costs $48 (around R710) - from the skincare line.
"It’s the first time I’m releasing this full video of when I first tried out limitless mask!!! Spoiler alert ... we decided not to charge $10,000 for them," she captioned the clip.
She added in the video: "Okay, I just took off the mask. Honestly, I cannot see a line on my face."
But one Instagram user was not buying it.
"But can I just mention that brows and forehead doesn’t move at all when you talk or try to express... you definitely have Botox. And tons of it. And it’s all good. Just saying," the woman wrote.
Close to 3,000 people liked the comment. JLO was less than impressed.
"Get you some JLO Beauty and feel beautiful in your own skin!! And here is another JLO Beauty secret: try spending your time being more positive, kind and uplifting of others.
"Don't spend your time trying to bring others down that will keep you youthful and beautiful too!!! Sending you love. #beautyfromtheinsideout #beautyhasnoexpirationdate," she clapped back.
When Jennifer unveiled JLO Beauty in December 2020, she stressed that she had never tried Botox.
"I haven’t ever had Botox to this day, I’m not that person. I don’t have anything against people doing that; it’s just not my thing. I’m more about a natural approach to skincare," she told beauty editors via a Zoom call.
She also told People magazine the secret to her youthful looks was olive oil - an ingredient she included in her anti-aging products.
"The hero ingredient and the basis of the line was kind of a secret that my mom and aunt had from a very young age, which is olive oil. It's nature's secret ingredient which we don't use enough of. They would use it on their skin and on their body, their face and their hair to get like a glow and to highly hydrate and moisturize," she said.
Her new line is flying off the shelves with thousands of her fans lining up to get that JLO glow.
