Home intruder steals Zahara's SAMA trophies

The intruder only stole Zahara's precious SAMA accolades.
Zahara is heartbroken after returning home following the Easter weekend to find that someone had stolen her South African Music Award trophies.
Speaking to Drum magazine, the 'Loliwe' hitmaker revealed that she got home to Roodepoort, Gauteng on Thursday, April 21, and she found that all six of her awards were missing.
She kept the trophies on a customised shelf. "I don't care if the person leaves them at my gate. I want those awards back," the 34-year-old told the publication.

The home intruder did not steal anything else. Zahara has opened a case with the police.
Zahara has won a total of 17 SAMAs, including 'Best Selling Album' and 'Album of the Year' for her debut album.
“I’ve always said that I make music to share my story and hopefully touch lives in the process. Receiving a nomination is nice because it means that my peers acknowledge the work that went into the project. However, It is a little bitter-sweet for me, because I’m up against my mentor and friend- the late Robbie Malinga," she said after being nominated for yet another SAMA in 2018.
Zahara's latest album, ‘Nqaba Yam’, was released in August last year. The 12-track album became an instant hit and quickly claimed the top spot on iTunes.
"I have been through a lot in the past years. I don’t write to make hits – I write about my life story. I am a poet and I turn all things that happen around me into songs. Every song on the album is about me, it’s not about anything else. When I was writing the album, I couldn’t sleep until 5am, because of everything that hurt me and some of the things that were happening around me," she told Music in Africa about the album.
