'Girl, bye' - Social media users react to Jada Pinkett Smith's remarks on THAT slap
Updated | By Tamlyn Canham
"Jada, [you're] a little too late with this one" - social media users had a lot to say about Jada's recent comments on slapgate.
It looks like Jada Pinkett Smith is ready to talk about the moment Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars.
Will famously (or should we say infamously) slapped Chris during the March ceremony after the comedian made fun of Jada's bald head.
Jada had previously spoken about her alopecia condition, but it was unclear if Chris knew about it or not.
Nonetheless, Will was slammed for his violent behaviour with many saying her overreacted. He later apologised and was ultimately banned from future Oscar ceremonies for 10 years.
Jada remained mum on the controversy until now. Her Facebook Watch show, 'Red Table Talk', recently aired an episode about a woman whose 12-year-old committed suicide after being bullied about her alopecia areata condition.
"This is a really important 'Red Table Talk' about alopecia. Considering what I've been through with my health and what happened at the Oscars, thousands have reached out to me with their stories," the 50-year-old said at the start of the episode.
The 'Set If Off' star then went on to address the incident at the Oscars.
"Now, about Oscar night. My deepest hope is that these two intelligent, capable men have an opportunity to heal, talk this out, and reconcile. The state of the world today, we need them both. Until then, Will and I are continuing to do what we have done for the last 28 years, and that's keep figuring out this thing called life together," she said.

Jada's remarks became a trending topic on social media. Many felt her comments were a little too late, while others told her to shut up.
"Why are we still talking about this?" one Instagram user asked. A second person wrote: "Jada always talking about healing, it was a SLAP . Not the end of the world."
A Twitter user commented: "Every time Jada Pinkett Smith trends, it’s because she’s done something to embarrass or downgrade her husband."
Another user added: "I swear Jada Pinkett Smith be saying so much and nothing at the same time."

No. The world actually doesn't "need" this. We need food, water, clothing, shelter and healthcare. We can live without three arrogant, entitled actors who have little hissy fits on stage and act like toddlers! -Everyone 🙄😒👎 #idiotseverywhere https://t.co/bkXqk8P3EQ

Despite Jada receiving flak for her comments, many social media users are glad that she is educating people about alopecia on her show.
"So many tears watching this episode. My mother has been diagnosed with Alopecia in the past year. My heart goes out to Rio's family. Bullying must not be tolerated," one woman commented on Facebook.
Another user added: "Oh man another powerful, informative and important episode I knew about Alopecia but not the extent of it so thank you RTT and thank you to all who shared...my heartfelt condolences to Rio family."
