'Game of Thrones' season 7 finale tops social media ratings

Game of Thrones was the most talked about TV topic on social media at the weekend.
The popular series dethroned the MTV VMAs and Big Brother in the United States.
According to data from Nielsen Social, 'Game of Thrones' drew 4.175 million social interactions in the US on Sunday night.

The data shows that of that social interactions, 3.093 million were on Facebook and 1.082 million were on Twitter.
The VMAs, which was also on Sunday night, came in at second with 3.961 million social interactions - 1.702 million on Facebook and 2.259 million on Twitter.
The season 7 finale also set another rating high with 16.5 million viewers on Sunday night, according to Nielsen data.

That number includes people who watched the episode as it aired and night-of streams.
