Updated | By Staff Writer
Glow TV, South Africa’s first eastern inspired channel on a free-to-air platform, has added five new food shows to their line-up. Find out more here.
Less than three months after launching on the OpenView HD satellite bouquet, Glow is expanding its viewer offering at a rapid rate.
All content on Glow TV, the product of cooperation between Kagiso Media and Nolava Television, is locally curated from around the globe.
“We’re a cooking crazy nation, more than 1.3 million South Africans tune in to food shows. Glow is extremely excited that with the launch of these new shows we will cater for every foodie’s cravings. They are also an opportunity for South Africans to delve into a cuisine that many relish but are not comfortable preparing,” says Yusuf Nabee, head of TV at Kagiso Media.
Among the shows is a healthy take on traditional Indian dishes, meals for even the youngest of food fans, eastern inspired tea time treats and two opportunities to get to know your favourite Bollywood stars through their love of food.
Health Mange More is presented by a doctor who whittles down the calories in ordinarily indulgent Indian meals. These healthier options don’t compromise on taste and can be enjoyed guilt free.
Mummy Ka Magic is for moms looking to win over the hearts and tummies of their little ones, while Tea Time With Chef Rakesh Sethi will inspire viewers to whip up decadent tea time treats. Chef Sethi’s dishes are not just for the evening tea time or ‘nashta’ enjoyed across India, but can make for a divine snack at any time of the day.

Filmy Dabba Party uses the Indian custom of ‘Tiffins’ or lunch boxes to get closer to big name celebrities. The team goes on set of the celebs latest films and takes a sneak peek into their lunch boxes. Not only do the stars open their Tiffins but their hearts too, as they share stories of their favourite dishes.
Stars Ka Tadka sees host Kubra Sait team up with celebrities to cook for their friends and family, with entertaining results. Not only do you get to see their kitchen prowess but their loved ones reveal more about who they are at home.
