Falling in love makes you fat!
Updated | By East Coast Radio
Yip, you read
right. A survey has found that couples gain nearly two-kilograms a year.
It is not as crazy as it sounds. Apparently, all those dinner dates are not doing your waistline any favours.
Couples are known to eat out quite a lot – ditching their salads in favour of steak dinners.
According to the Daily Mail, the survey found that while some gain weight during the early stages of their relationship (when they are no doubt eating out quite a bit), many started gaining weight after the third year – which is allegedly the comfort zone.
Sixty-two percent of the couples surveyed by British diet company, Forzadiet.com, said they gained weight together, after picking up bad eating habits from their partner.
“Falling in love is the most wonderful thing in the world. But once the first flushes of love pass many couples do settle into a comfort zone and that can lead to them letting themselves go - with predictable results for both,” Lee Smith, the company’s managing director told the Daily Mail.
But there’s good news! Most couples who gain weight together, find it easier to lose weight together.
Or you can just avoid weight gain altogether by dumping your partner after three years of dating when the comfort zone period sets in – just kidding!
