The star’s ‘Visiting Hours’ song will soon be available.
Sheeran debuted the song in March when he paid an emotional tribute to his late mentor, Michael Gudinski, during his memorial service.
Gudinski died in his sleep on March 2 at the age of 68.
Following the news of his passing, Sheeran took to Instagram to share about the pain of losing his mentor.
"It's so hard to put into words how much Michael meant to me, and to all of us who knew him... Michael was a tornado of joy. You would know he arrived in the building just by hearing the chaotic bark of his, and you could feel the room get excited about the arrival of his presence... We were, first and foremost, friends. He was a father figure and mentor to me," he wrote.
He then penned down the song ‘Visiting Hours’ to share about how much he wishes he could visit his mentor in heaven.
“In lockdown I was able to have a guitar for quarantine and I always find the best way to process stuff is to write songs, be it good news, bad news or whatever and here is a song I finished last week," he said before singing the song in front of a crowd that had come to the memorial.
"Well, I wish that heaven had visiting hours, so I could just swing by and ask your advice. What would you do in my situation? I haven't a clue how I'd even raise them. What would you do cause you always knew what's right," Sheeran sang.
The good news is that the song will soon be released. This was confirmed by Gudinski’s son, who is now the new CEO of the late musician’s record label, Mushroom Records.

"It meant a lot to myself and our family that Ed made the journey out here and created a song in Dad’s honour,” Matt told News Corp.
"I believe there’s plans for [Ed's song] to be released in due course,” he told the publication.
