Drake confirms he'll be attending Uncle Waffles' first show in Toronto
Updated | By Tamlyn Canham
Uncle Waffles and Drake's friendship is blossoming.
Uncle Waffles is heading to Canada and one of her biggest fans, rapper Drake, will be front and centre to support her.
The Swazi-born DJ, who made a name for herself on the Amapiano music scene in South Africa, took to Instagram to announce her upcoming show, which just happens to be taking place in Drake's hometown of Toronto.
"TORONTOOOOOOOO! For the first time! We have a date! We love Waffles Headline Show on 1st August. Be prepared for a showwww, babies," she wrote.
The promotional poster for her show paid homage to Drake. She recreated the visuals from Drake's '8AM In Charlotte' music video. Drake rocked a wavy hairdo accessorised with colourful hair clips for the video shoot.
According to several reports, she also used the same font that the 'Certified Loverboy' hitmaker uses to promote his shows.
Drake took notice! He slid into the comments section and made a very big announcement.
"I’ll be there," he said.

Drake and Uncle Waffles
Drake and Uncle Waffles have shown each other love on social media for years. It all began when Drake started following the 'ASYLUM' hitmaker on Instagram in 2021.
"I called my managers and we cried. Guys, he is the biggest artist in the world, in the entire world," she tweeted after discovering that the Canadian rapper was following her.
Uncle Waffles, who now has 2.7-million followers on Instagram, was spotted at one of Drake's shows in Los Angeles in 2023.
Since her viral moment with Drake nearly three years ago, Uncle Waffles has been booked for several gigs in America and around the world. She made her debut at Coachella in April last year.
Drake is not her only famous fan. R&B superstar Ciara sang her praises after meeting her during Coachella. They performed the Yahyuppiyah Dance Challenge together.
"I just love @unclewaffles_ she's everything," the 'Better Thangs' singer said
