DJ Zinhle responds to Hair Majesty wig drama - 'I’m humbled by recent events'
Updated | By Tamlyn Canham
"We are taking all feedback seriously," says Zinhle.
DJ Zinhle says her team is doing everything in its power to ensure that its customer promises are being met.
The 38-year-old is responding to criticism about her Hair Majesty wig brand. A TikTok user named Thulisile Lushaba put the brand on blast after buying a 16-inch Brazilian wig for R3,170.
Thulisile complained that the wig she received not only came late but it was also much thinner than she expected.
“If I had known the wig was so thin. This [wig], I’m not even sure it’s 100g. Like, on the DJ Zinhle website... they need to specify that the hair is 100 percent density, 180 percent density, 200 density. They need to tell us the density of the wig so that we know exactly what we are purchasing. If it’s already thin at a short length, how thin will it be for a 20-something inch?” the TikTok creator asked.

Scores of social media users took it upon themselves to ask DJ Zinhle about the disaster on Thulisile's behalf.
Zinhle initially clapped back by telling the critics that she has addressed the matter already.
"This must be the first time in history that a business receives a bad review… Just so you know, I have contacted the customer and we are dealing with it. Further than that, I can’t help you guys,” the 'Umlilo' hitmaker tweeted.
The businesswoman was further slammed, with many saying that her tweet was in poor taste for a business owner.
"Lol she will lose customers with that kind of response," one woman tweeted. Many said Zinhle needed to humble herself.
And that is exactly what DJ Zinhle did. Hair Majesty has issued a statement addressing the concerns that were raised.
"In keeping to our promise of sustained quality, we accept and deeply regret that a recent customer report on a particular product did not reflect this. As an emerging business with a promising growth trajectory, we understand, at the core, that our biggest value proposition is and will continue to be our customers," the statement read.

Zinhle launched her premium wig range in June last year. The Peruvian lace wigs and HD frontals range from R1,500 to over R5,000.
"The idea for Hair Majesty stemmed from a very specific feeling she experienced every time she had a wig installed no matter the style or colour, which gave her the feeling that she can conquer anything and everything which has become her personal reminder that she is a queen, and this hair is her crown, hence the name Hair Majesty," Zinhle's brand said in a statement.
