DJ Zinhle and Nadia Nakai's lunch date with the Forbes family

AKA's mother, Lynn Forbes, has kept the promise she made to DJ Zinhle and Nadia Nakai at AKA's memorial service in February. 

She promised that Zinhle, who is the mother of AKA's daughter, and Nadia - AKA's girlfriend - will always be part of their family. 

"Forever, both of you, though Kiernan is not around anymore, you are always welcome and you will always be my daughters, and I don't care what anybody says on social media about you. They don't matter. You matter because I love you," she said at the time. 

Despite coming to terms with her own grief, Lynn continues to support Nadia and Zihle. She was spotted at a family gathering with both women at the weekend. 

Her mother and Tony Forbes, AKA's father, were also in attendance.

"My mother never taught me how to love … she showed me," Lynn captioned a picture of the family.

AKA and DJ Zinhle's daughter, Kairo Forbes, also attended the lunch. She posed for a picture with both Zinhle and Nadia.

Nadia also shared a picture of the trio on her Instagram page.

"What is Collateral Beauty? The very idea of collateral beauty is that no matter how dark or how difficult the time is, there is something beautiful that is happening right there. You just have to look," she wrote.

It's not the first time that Nadia and Kairo have been spotted together following AKA's sudden death.

She was spotted on a lunch date with Kairo in early March. They also joined AKA's friend Don Design and his girlfriend on an outing. 

The road to healing is long and painful, but it is good to see AKA's friends and family supporting each other during this difficult period.
