Pearl Thusi says she has made a dream come true - whether this makes sense to you or not...
Actress Pearl Thusi has officially made her debut as a deejay, fulfilling a decade-long dream.
She took to Instagram on Monday to share a lengthy post about her first set as a DJ.
"Was playing 'Imithandazo' to end my set, o had to thank God for carrying me through that hour," the 'Queen Sono' star captioned a picture of herself on stage.
Pearl told her five-million followers that God's timing is perfect and urged them to "trust the process".
"I’ve made a dream come true. Whether this makes sense to you or not… worry about yourself and making your dreams come true. I pray this convinces you to never give up on what you want to achieve. I was always so worried about what everyone would say about this decision- for nearly a decade," she said.
The 35-year-old revealed that she practiced until she couldn't stand anymore.
"I’m so happy because I overcame the fear of judgement- forgetting that only God has the right to judge me. I’m free."
MORE FROM EAST COAST RADIO:
Pearl's best friend, DJ Zinhle, who has been one of South Africa's leading female DJs for years, congratulated her on stepping out of her comfort zone.
"Let’s go, friend. See you on the road, can’t wait!" Zinhle wrote.
Pearl joins the likes of Lamiez Holworthy, DNB Gogo, Uncle Waffles, Lady Du, Thuli Phongolo, Thando Thabethe, Lerato Kganyago, and many other top female DJs in South Africa.

Pearl is thinking of having a separate DJ name, but her fans think DJ Pearl Thusi sounds perfectly fine.
She first revealed plans to venture into music in July last year. Pearl told DJ Fresh on his 'What A Week (WAW)' podcast that she was busy making music.
The actress, who is also a businesswoman, said she was focused on building an empire.
"I'm trying to focus on building things for myself instead of living in a world of dependency on producers, directors and people. I'm trying to build an empire for myself so that when I get involved in other people's projects, it's not desperation or only because of the pay cheque," she said.
You go, DJ Pearl!
