Her father, Collins Mashego, told Jacaranda FM that she was found dead in her house on Monday. The cause of her death is still not known.

"Her only illness was a manageable asthma. It wasn't that dangerous," he told Jacaranda FM.

"Neighbours who saw her every morning did not see her [on Sunday] they phoned us to tell us they did not see her."

"We rushed to the house and knocked around, but there was no answer. But we thought that she may have left in a hurry."

"[On Monday] morning when we went there to check if she is back, we had to break the door only to find her sleeping dead," said Mr Mashego.

V-Mash became popular in the 1990s as a presenter for youth show, 'Jam Alley'.

She was loved for her colourful personality and catchy phrases such as, 'Ayeye bangani ayeye!'.

She also acted for two of South Africa's biggest drama series - 'Generations' and 'Isibaya'.

V-Mash also hosted Mzansi Magic Music show 'PLS Call Me' in 2014.

Currently, she was a host of 'Bheka Sik’bambile' on 'Moja Love'.
