Cassper Nyovest wants to be Nigerian and his SA fans aren't happy

Cassper Nyovest is receiving major backlash for saying he wishes he was from Nigeria because his music would get more support there.
Cassper Nyovest got his fans talking on Tuesday with an interesting tweet about why he wants to be Nigerian.
The 'Move For Me' rapper made the comment during a discussion about the South African music industry with Zakes Bantwini.
"2020 for SA music if you want unit in the industry we must stop being genre based and be music based. If we want to push SA Music to a level where Nigerians are you Must think SA music industry then Genre movement, period," Zakes tweeted.
Cassper did not agree.
"Nigeria has all the genres we have but they push Afrobeats. What's wrong with me riding for SA hip hop cause it got me here? I have supported every genre in SA, Come on big bro. I hate these back and forths on Twitter. Rather call me if you wanna discuss this."

One Twitter user told Cassper he wished he was from Nigeria and the rapper agreed.
"Won't even lie. I wish i was from Nigeria too. The love they have for thier own artists, the way they celebrate their culture, 90% local content on radio and Tv, there way they celebrate their music no matter where they are in the world, the unity within thier industry. A DREAM!" Cassper wrote.

Cassper's followers felt betrayed by his comments.
"Cassper is ungrateful after all SA fans have done to build his Fill Up and brand. Just buy a ticket broer, take [the] first flight to Nigeria. He must also host his next fill up in Lagos," a Twitter user commented.

One Twitter user said Cassper would not be as big as other Nigerian stars if he moved there.
"Cassper Nyovest is really pressed that Davido has a song with Chris Brown? Even if he was from Nigeria, he wasn't gonna be as big as Nigerian artists. We have Black Coffee who's bigger than them & he's global because of the love he got back home. He must chill, his time is coming," the tweep wrote.

AKA also took a swipe at Cassper. While he didn't mention Cassper's name, many Twitter users believe his post is about his arch-rival.
"You cannot disown your own people and in the next breath want to LEAD them. Somebody had to say something. Unfortunately or fortunately (depends on how you look at it) ... somehow it must always be me. Goodnight. My work is done here on this stupid app nxaaa," AKA tweeted.

But some Twitter users came to Cassper's defence, saying he was being attacked for speaking the truth.
I'm done with this country, is this the tweet that has everybody ready to burn @casspernyovest, Hai shame I feel sorry for the guys. Zulu is my 1st language but I've been speaking English for years, and what I get from his tweet is that Nigeria plays 90% of local content.. Wow!! pic.twitter.com/9VcQS5fv7J

Here's what others had to say:
67k South Africans filled up a stadium to watch you yet now .... never mind. Some weren’t even your target audience yet they went there so they can help you fulfill your dream. But now... you want to be Obi

I have been in SA for quite sometime and I have notice they don’t appreciate their Artiste.. only if you know the hard work they put in just to make a record and try to to put SA and African music on the Map. All Casper is asking here is for you to appreciate and support you own.
