Burna Boy slams claims his SA show was postponed due to low ticket sales
Burna Boy laughs at those who think his FNB Stadium heritage weekend show was postponed due to low ticket sales.
Burna Boy has been trending on X (Twitter) after it was announced that his FNB show scheduled for this weekend will no longer be taking place.
The show was scheduled for Saturday, 23 September.
However, on Tuesday, it was announced that the show has been moved to December 16.
"We regret to announce the postponement of the highly anticipated Burna Boy concert scheduled to take place at FNB Stadium, Johannesburg on 23 September 2023. The concert will now take place on 16th of December 2023," read a statement by Ticket Pro.
According to a statement by popular Twitter user, Man’s NOT Barry Roux, the concert was canceled due to low ticket sales.

The Nigerian musician took to Instagram Stories to address the claims about poor ticket sales.
“I was in SA last year and I had 100 Thousand of the most Beautiful South Africans Outside for me,” he wrote on Instagram Stories.
“So no dead agenda can Agend," he wrote, adding laughing emojis.
The Grammy winner promised to perform in the country soon.
"I will see you again real soon South Africa. I ❤️ you," he wrote.

According to a report by Sunday World, the cancellation comes after Burna fired the sound team for the show.
“They had a problem with the company that offers them sound which is the biggest sound company in Africa. Burna Boy fired them on Monday night and they had to replace them with another company from North West which does not have the required capacity to do the show,” a source reportedly told the publication.

This is not the first time Burna has failed to make it to a scheduled show in SA.
In 2019, Burna was booked for the Africans Unite Concert in South Africa but had to cancel after threats were made. During that time, there were xenophobic attacks taking place in the country.
“The decision to cancel the Africans Unite Concert comes after the call from the Tshwane Entertainment Collective to boycott the Africans Unite concert in Tshwane. Phambili Media and Play Network Africa were prompted to take the threats and warnings seriously, as the safety of all artists and attendees could not be guaranteed,” read a statement from Phambili Media SA.
