Bryoni Govender one step closer to Miss Universe crown
It's Bryoniverse! South Africa's Miss Universe contestant is turning heads in El Salvador.
Miss Universe South Africa Bryoni Govender's impressive showing at the Miss Universe pageant has the beauty world talking.
The 27-year-old showed off her national costume, designed by KwaZulu-Natal designer Casey Jeanne, on Thursday.
Bryoni received wild applause from the audience and scores of people back home in South Africa. The national costume show was live-streamed in SA at 4am on Friday.
"The livestream glitches had me in a state! But @bryoni.govender you rocked it and that end pose guuuuurrrrllll. Flying our flag high. PS: how can we get a re-recording (non-glitches) of our girl working that runway like a Queen," Casey wrote on Instagram.
Bryoni's Indian-African fusion dress has received a 10/10 from pageant watchers.
"I am not even South African but my love for South Africa even shocks me I don’t know but I love SOUTH AFRICA," one international viewer wrote.
Another fan commented: "She was amazing. Love from Haiti."

Bryoni is a Top 10 Silver Finalist. She was recognised in the Voice for Change contest.

The Miss Universe final ceremony will take place on Saturday, November 18.
It will air live on Sunday from 3am South African time on SABC 3 (DStv Channel 193).
A repeat will be shown at 7:30pm.
