Britney Spears is one of the most popular musicians in the world.

As a result, her life has been scrutinised and criticised by many.

The global superstar has taken to Instagram to talk about the pain she has had to endure over the years.

The comment comes after paparazzi photos of her surfaced.

On Monday, the pop star was photographed landing at Van Nuys Airport in Los Angeles, returning from her recent trip to Mexico. The photos did not show her in good light.

Taking to Instagram, Spears wore the same dress she was photographed in and addressed the negative comments.

"The night before the paps got THAT SHOT of me going to my car !!! Same dress and same girl !!! Look I get it I know my body is not perfect but I also know I don’t have cellulite on my legs the way the paps betray me !!! I also know the way the paps shoot me in public when I go out I look like a different person !!!"

The singer said she feels "abused" by the media.

"It’s honestly abusive," she wrote.

She added that she feels "like one of the most bullied people in the world !!! It’s the truth!"

The award-winning singer said that the abuse takes a toll on her health.

"It’s not healthy for my heart or my health !!! I’m 122 and if I lost anymore weight and was sick and believed those pics I would be in the hospital !!! It’s a sticky conversation because in a world of where vanity rules not one person would believe me !!! Not one person will believe me because they prefer the negativity !!! Oh well !!!"

In other news, the star's ex, Kevin Federline, shared an update on the singer's "reunification" with their sons Sean and Jayden.

The teens moved to Hawaii last year to be with their father.

Kevin, through his lawyer, said the boys are taking a step in the right direction to mend their relationship with their mother.

"Reconciliations and the reunification of relationships are difficult and take time," Kevin's attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan told Entertainment Tonight on Tuesday, 25 June.

"They are sometimes complicated and always a lengthy process. The process has not really commenced, let alone [been] completed. The good thing is that the boys saw their mom was doing well and have a desire to speak with her," the lawyer continued. "There has been some telephonic communication between Britney and her sons, and we think that is a step in the right direction," Mark said.
