Updated | By Tamlyn Canham
Friends says Kuli "just collapsed and never woke up".
The entertainment industry is mourning the loss of media personality, Nomakula 'Kuli' Roberts. The TV presenter reportedly died after collapsing this week.
According to TRUELOVE, she was relaxing with friends when she collapsed. Some of the star's friends also confirmed the news to the Daily Sun.
Kuli's family has not spoken publicly about her passing as yet. Her exact cause of death is also unknown.
During an interview with MacG in September last year, Kuli spoke about how she would one day like to be remembered.
"I don't want to be remembered. I want you guys to just look out for each other. I want you to look after the people who are downtrodden on and still downtrodden on. I want you to look after people with albinism, I need you to look after the LGBTQI community," she told MacG.

16 December 1982- 10 February 2022. Good Night Nomakula #RIPKuliRoberts https://t.co/RYadQTvNPQ
Kuli Roberts leaves behind her two children, India Corte and Ieaun Roberts. She also has a granddaughter named Isabella.
India shared a touching birthday tribute to her mother in December last year.
"Happy birthday to the most amazing mother in the world. Ieaun & I are so blessed to have such an incredible mom like you!! All you have ever done is always made sure you could provide for your children and you have always worked so hard to do it ! We are so blessed and grateful to have you as our mother & Isabella is so blessed to have you as her nana ❤️ Mom, I love you always!" she wrote on Instagram.
Kuli Roberts was recently seen in Netflix's original movie, 'Angeliena'. She played the role of Tina.
"Tina is very much like Kuli. She pretends she’s strong, she’s loud, bright colours and has a go-getter attitude, but inside she’s a lamb. She’s been hurt, she’s been damaged and all she can do is just protect this little group of friends that she has – one of which is Angeliena,” she told the Sunday Independent in an interview.
She was also the co-host of 'Trending SA' and appeared in 'The Queen'.
In 2021, Kuli was the victim of a death hoax. She became a trending topic online after a Facebook user claimed she had passed away.
Kuli slammed the post. "Id like to apologize to anyone who saw this. This boy needs to finish Matric," she clapped back.
