Meghan Markle was "fascinated" by Princess Diana growing up.
Meghan Markle has become one of the most recognised faces in the world thanks to her upcoming nuptials to Prince Harry, and according to a new book, it's a dream come true for the star.
A new biography by famous English writer Andre Norton, claims the 36-year-old has always wanted to be Diana 2.0.
During the couple's first interview after announcing their engagement, the former 'Suits' actress said she didn't know much about the British royal family.
But according to Andrew's book, 'Meghan: A Hollywood Princess', she was "fascinated" by the royals before meeting Prince Harry.
"She was always fascinated by the royal family. She wants to be princess Diana 2.0," childhood friend Ninaki Priddy told the author.
Andrew claims Meghan saw Diana as a role model and loved everything from her style to her humanitarian work.
The actress was allegedly in tears while watching Harry's mother's funeral in 1997. Not only will she soon become a member of the royal family, but she proudly carries a piece of Princess Diana wherever she goes.
Harry proposed to Meghan with a ring made with some of his mother's diamonds.
The couple is set to marry on May 19 at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.
They recently announced that they have asked guests not to give them wedding gifts.
"The couple have... asked that anyone who might wish to mark the occasion considers making a donation to charity, rather than sending a wedding gift. Prince Harry and Ms Markle have personally selected seven organisations they would like to support, reflecting their shared values," Kensington Palace said in a statement.
