'Beverly Hills, 90210' cast celebrate upcoming reboot

'Beverly Hills, 90210' fans are in for a treat! The show is returning to our screens on August 7 with the original cast making a comeback. 

'BH90210' will premiere on Fox, with almost all of the original cast members. The reboot will reportedly be aired on M-Net (DStv 101). 

Tori Spelling (Donna), Jennie Garth (Kelly), and Ian Ziering (Steve) will be reprising their roles on the parody-drama series.

Brian Austin Green, Jason Priestley, Gabrielle Carteris, and Shannen Doherty are also back.  

Much-loved favourite Luke Perry sadly died earlier this year. While viewers can expect glimpses of their characters, the new version of the show will be inspired by the cast's real-life drama. They're basically playing fictional versions of themselves!

Ian told Us Weekly what fans can expect from the reboot.

"We are playing ourselves after meeting at a fan panel. Tori, who, in the TV series, is a mother of six children and is broke, inspires everybody to get the show back on. [Tori’s character] really needs this. So everyone has their reasons of why they don’t want to do it or why it shouldn’t be done, but Tori’s story is so compelling, it convinces everyone to do it." 

The show's creators have revealed that the original theme song will also be back, as will the cast's favourite diner, Peach Pit.

There will also be a few new faces. Former MTV presenter Vanessa Lachey,  La La Anthony, and Ivan Sergei will make their debut in the reboot.

The cast celebrated their upcoming premiere by throwing a Peach Pit Pop Up in Los Angeles.

"MyBFF @jenniegarth and I were inspired to pay homage to our OG characters with a modern pop in iconic #bh90210 colors," Tori wrote on Instagram.
