Tyla is winning on and off the red carpet! Not only did she win big at the 2024 BET Awards, but she also wore a Versace dress and had one of the hottest performances at the ceremony.
Tyla accepted her 'Best New Artist' trophy at the 2024 BET Awards in a designer dress accessorised with millions of Rands worth of diamonds.
The 22-year-old South African singer beat Sexyy Red, Ayra Starr, 41, 4Batz, Bossman Dlow, Fridayy, and October London to win the award.
"This is crazy," she said while accepting the award, which was her second win on the night.
"Firstly, I love Sexyy Red. Oh my gosh. I can't. I love her so much. This is such a gift to be here. I just want to dedicate this one to Africa. I want to dedicate this one to all the African superstars before me who didn't get these opportunities I am getting. It's just amazing. Africa to the world, guys!" she said.
Tyla was also a winner on the red carpet. The 'Water' hitmaker wore a black vintage Versace gown with a halter neck. The dress was accessorised with jewellery worth $230,000 (R4-million).
According to People magazine, the Jared Atelier natural diamonds weighed a staggering 70 carats.
