Miss South Africa 2020 Shudufhadzo Musida will be getting on a plane to Puerto Rico on Saturday to compete in the Miss World pageant - again.

The final ceremony was postponed at the last moment in December last year due to COVID-19 fears. The competition is back on and Shudufhadzo is ready to show the judges what she is made of.

The 25-year-old is packed and ready to go!

After the pageant was temporarily brought to a halt, Miss World organisers announced that Shudufhadzo was one of six contestants to win the 'Beauty with a Purpose' competition.

The pre-ceremony competition recognises the work the women do in their communities. Shudufhadzo won for the 'Mindful Mondays' project which raises awareness around mental health.

"When I stood on the Miss South Africa stage more than a year ago I pledged to start a mindful movement and over the past year we did just that! Through ‘Mindful Mondays’ and ‘Shudu finds her Magic’ we have created a space for so many to share their stories, to listen, to learn and to start the journey towards Mental Health and Well being," Shudu wrote on Instagram shortly after the announcement.

The other winners were USA, England, India, Kenya, and the Philippines. Shudufhadzo revealed in January that she officially made it to the Top 40 following her impressive showing in December.

She was one of 15 fast track winners who advanced to the Top 40.

"Going into this my biggest driver was 'beauty with a purpose' and to have my project chosen as one of the winners is such an honour, but to have met the human embodiments of beauty with a purpose in the other contestants just made the journey that much more fulfilling," Shudufhadzo wrote.
