Avril Lavigne addresses "funny" body double conspiracy
There's a conspiracy theory that Avril Lavigne is not aging as she should, and people are convinced they know who her body double is...
Avril Lavigne is speaking out against claims that she has been replaced by a body double.
For years, rumours have been rife that the 39-year-old is either a vampire or a the clone of a much younger lookalike.
Some fans have even suggested that she died more than 20 years ago, and the person we see is Melissa Vandella - her alleged body double.
The 'Complicated' hitmaker addressed the bizarre theories in the latest episode of the 'Call Her Daddy' podcast.
"It's so dumb," she told host Alexandra Cooper. The 'Sk8er Boi' hitmaker doesn't know whether to be offended or pleased by the comments.
"It's just funny to me. On one end, everyone's like, 'You look the exact same. You haven't aged a day.' But then other people are like, 'There's a conspiracy theory that I'm not me.'"

It seems some people are still not convinced. "That’s exactly what Melissa would say," one person joked.
An Instagram user commented: "But like, I’ve never seen Avril and Melissa in the same room, soooo."
Interestingly enough, no one can confirm that Melissa is a real person. There is no trace of the woman, or is that just because she has been too busy pretending to be Avril?
Anytime Avril does or says anything out of character her fans blame Melissa.
In 2017, Avril took to social media to promote a low-sugar protein bar.
One fan responded: "Avril Lavigne would never promote a Slim Secret bar. The jig is up Melissa."

Avril is not too fazed by the conspiracy because several other stars have been accused of being replaced by body doubles.
Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake are also clones, apparently. According to conspiracy theorists, they died in a car accident in 2001.
The rumours continue to plague Britney, with some people insisting that the person we constantly see dancing on Instagram is either a body double or the result of AI.

Kanye West, Zac Efron, and Eminem are also body doubles - allegedly.
Many people are also convinced that Pharrell Williams, who at 51 could still pass for someone in their late 30s, is a vampire.
Other celebrity vampires include Shakira, Jared Leto, Beyoncé, and Bianca Lawson.
