Americans mistake Bonang Matheba for Zoe Saldana

Bonang Matheba is living her best life in New York City and South Africa's media darling is already getting noticed by some of the locals. 

Queen B relocated to the Big Apple in May to work on several upcoming projects. The projects remain a secret for now. 

When she is not working on her mystery projects, Bonang is exploring her local surroundings. During a recent visit to Times Square, she was stopped by people who wanted to take her picture. 

A TikTok user named Nicholas Pinto decided to get in on the action because she seemed famous. 

"Today I saw tons of people taking pictures with this lady, so I did too. I have no idea who she is," he wrote. "Tag her in the comments if u know her. She had a British accent." 

The video has been watched nearly two million times on TikTok.

Scores of TikTok users said they thought the woman in the video looked like 'Avengers' star Zoe Saldana.

"That's queen Zoe Saldana," one user wrote.

Another added: "That's Zoe Saldana from Guardians of the Galaxy."

Despite many South Africans pointing out that the person is Bonang Matheba, many continued to speculate. 

Bonang came across the video and couldn't stop laughing.

"I'm screaming," she commented. 

Bonang also has social media users talking for another reason. She enjoyed a night out on the town with model, Duckie Thot. 

The pair got dressed up for the occasion. Bonang wore a mermaid outfit complete with a black and gold trident.

Duckie wore a gold crown and a top made of pearls.  Bonang's mermaid look got a lot of attention on social media.
