Alex 'A-Rod' Rodriguez is reacting to viral pictures and videos that show him sporting an extremely dark tan.
The retired baseball star showed off his new tan at a recent Minnesota Timberwolves game. Social media users were shocked to see him looking several shades darker.
Some even likened his new look to "blackface".
"That spray tan Alex Rodriguez has right now, looks terrible. My god…" one X (Twitter) user wrote.
Another user added: "May wanna lay off using the tanning bed, A-Rod…"

A-Rod, who many South Africans will recognise from his relationship with Jennifer Lopez, laughed off the "drama" surrounding his tan.
"Alright, everybody. I know that I’m dark. But I am Dominican and I went on vacation and I fell asleep in the sun. So everybody calm down," he said in a video shared on social media.
Despite his explanation, many continued to make jokes about his tan.
"Where’d you go on vacation? Hell?" one Instagram user joked. Another added: "My guy can’t tan in peace!"
Some were shocked that he even had to address the issue in the first place.
"Crazy that dude has to put out a statement about his shade of brown," one X user wrote.
A second person commented: "People haven’t left their house in so long they get freaked out by tans. Humanity is done."
A third wrote: "Don’t apologize for getting dark, that’s our natural skin color , we are for the Caribbean."
