Aaliyah's 'Unstoppable' album set to drop in January

Snoop Dogg, Drake, Ne-Yo, Chris Brown, Future, and more are set to feature on Aaliyah's new album.
Two decades after her death, Aaliyah fans will get to hear new music from the star. Her posthumous album, 'Unstoppable', will reportedly be released later this month.
Her uncle, Barry Hankerson, confirmed the release in an interview on Geno Jones' YouTube show. Barry, who is a record producer, explained how the album came about.
"About five years ago, we realised that we had quite a bit of music that we had never put out that was recorded by Aaliyah... and we decided to try to remaster it," he told Geno.

Barry added that they asked artists who were big fans of Aaliyah if they would like to feature on the songs. He says they received an "overwhelming response" from the artists.
Drake, who has a tattoo of Aaliyah on his back, is one of the music superstars who will be featuring on the album. Snoop Dogg, Future, and Ne-Yo will also feature.
Chris Brown and Timbaland teamed up for a song on the album. Missy Elliot, who was one of Aaliyah's close friends, is also working on something.
But Barry says he is unsure if her collaboration will make it in time for the release. Both Missy and Timbaland worked on some of Aaliyah's previous albums, including 'One in a Million'.

The album's lead single, 'Poison' featuring The Weeknd, dropped in December last year, Barry says the single is doing "quite well" and they are excited to see how the other songs do.
Aaliyah died in August 2001 after her plane crashed shortly after takeoff in the Bahamas. She had just wrapped up shooting her music video, 'Rock the Boat'.
Eight other people were also killed in the crash. Aaliyah would have turned 43 this month.
