Eddie Murphy's controversial advice involving the Will Smith Oscar saga
Updated | By Poelano Malema
This advice is not what we expected...
Listen up, legendary American actor Eddie Murphy has some advice for you! But be warned, it is definitely advice that will make you laugh.
The 'Coming 2 America' star was speaking at the 2023 Golden Globes which took place on January 10 at The Beverly Hilton Hotel. Murphy was honoured with the Cecil B. DeMille Award.
In his acceptance speech, the award-winning actor thanked the Hollywood Foreign Press for the honour.
"I want to say thank you to the Hollywood Foreign Press for bestowing this prestigious honor on me," said the actor.
"I've been in show business for 46 years and I've been in the movie business for 41 years, so this has been a long time in the making and it's greatly appreciated."

He also shared advice for up-and-coming artists.
"I'm going to wrap it up and say something to all the new up and coming dreamers and artists that are in the room tonight," said Murphy.
"I want to let you know that there is a definitive blueprint that you can follow to achieve success, prosperity, longevity and peace of mind. I followed it my whole career," said the 61-year-old.
What followed was not what many expected. As a comedian, Murphy made the audience laugh with his advice.
"Just do these three things: Pay your taxes, mind your business and keep Will Smith's wife's name out of your f--king mouth."
Last year, Will Smith made headlines after he slapped comedian Chris Rock for making a joke about his wife, Jada Smith, at the 94th Academy Awards on March 27, 2022.
