2024 Grammys weekend: Crossing fingers for Tyla and Musa Keys

Make the Grammy circle bigger! South Africa has strong representation at this year's ceremony...
It's almost time for South African musicians Tyla and Musa Keys to fly the country's flag at one of the most prestigious music award ceremonies in the world.
The pair are both up for an award at the 2024 Grammys.
The 66th Annual Grammy Awards are taking place on Sunday, February 4, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
SA comedian Trevor Noah will be hosting the awards ceremony for a fourth time. Musa and Tyla are both nominated in the 'Best African Music Performance'.
The Recording Academy recognised Tyla for her smash hit, 'Water' - which peaked at number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in America. The song is still climbing up the chart!
The song also made it to the top spot on the ECR Top 40 with Danny brought to you by CTM. It's currently at #16 on the chart, with her latest hit, 'Truth or Dare', sitting at #2.

Musa received a nomination for his collaboration with Nigerian superstar Davido. Their song is called 'UNAVAILABLE'.
The pair are up against Ayra Starr's 'Rush', Burna Boy's 'City Boys', and 'Amapiano' by ASAKE and Olamide.
South African-born Australian singer Troye Sivan is nominated in the 'Best Music Video' and 'Best Pop Dance Recording' categories for his song 'Rush'. It's the 28-year-old's first Grammy nomination.
Doja Cat, whose father is 'Sarafina!' star Dumisani Dlamini, received three nominations.

If Tyla or Musa win a Grammy on Sunday it will be three wins in a row for South Africa. Wouter Kellerman, Zakes Bantwini, and Nomcebo Zikode won 'Best Global Music Performance' at the 2023 Grammys.

DJ Black Coffee's 'Subconsciously' came out tops in the 'Best Dance/Electronic Music Album' category in 2022.
Ladysmith Black Mambazo has the most overall wins with five Grammys. The group has also been nominated 17 times.2024 Grammys - Album of the Year
Other nominees at this year's Grammys include Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, and SZA.
Eight artists are up for the coveted 'Album of the Year' award.
