WATCH: Scenes at UKZN campuses this week
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
Calm has been restored to all the campuses at UKZN following a week of unrest while management says students will continue going to class well into next week. Demonstrations have gone awry at institutions across the country.
This in a bid for the Higher Education Department to implement a 0% fee increase for the 2017 academic year and assure students of prospects of free and quality education.
There have been stand-offs between security and students, a march to the KZN Legislature and most recently a silent march hosted by academics to the National Assembly. See some of the key occurrences of the week.
President of the Howard College Debating Union and law student Waris Asmal says the university's interdict preventing any protests is illegitimate.
