Voter registration: Provincial IEC confirms readiness

The provincial IEC has confirmed it's ready for the upcoming voter registration weekend in terms of logistics and personnel.
KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Electoral Officer, Mawethu Mosery says that over 14 000 people have been trained and recruited to assist potential voters.
Municipal elections will be held on August 3.

Mosery says the scanner machines used in the registration process are now at municipal level and ready to be distributed to voting stations.
"We have done sufficient voter information and voter education in the various communities of the province and we believe that working without a State department we have created sufficient knowledge on the need to go and register, especially the first-time voters," he said.
