UPDATE: N3 reopened at Townhill, PMB

After 24 hours of recovery and clean-up operations, the N3 south carriageway at Townhill has finally been re-opened to traffic.

It was closed after a tanker, a police car and two construction vehicles collided near the Peter Brown offramp.
The tanker - carrying ethanol - bursting into flames. The other vehicles also caught fire - leaving two people dead and seven others hurt.

The Road Traffic Inspectorate says traffic is flowing again.
