Two killed in Inchanga violence to be laid to rest today
Updated | By Lucky Khanyile
The two members of political parties killed in Inchanga last week will be laid to rest today.
One of them, Nsikelelo Blose, of the SACP was shot dead last Sunday at a local tavern. Her death led to violence in the area which led to the killing of ANC's Xolani Ngcobo in what is thought to have been a revenge attack.
Political tensions between the alliance partners in the area saw a few other people killed before the municipal elections.
The SACP's KZN chairperson, James Nxumalo, says Blose's funeral will be held at Nondlini Community Hall while that of Ngcobo will take place at Michael Gwala Community Hall.
"We can assure the community and anyone that will be attending the funeral that police visibility has been beefed up, therefore we do not anticipate any problems," he said.
"We request that people remain calm because we want to stabilize the situation and ensure that people are able to go to the respective funerals," Nxumalo said.
