Tip-off leads to R1.2m drug bust on N3 highway

Six suspects have been arrested for possession of dagga worth an estimated street value of R1.2-million.
Police recovered the drugs after receiving a tip-off about three vehicles headed from Durban to Cape Town this morning.

Spokesperson Thulani Zwane says they intercepted the vehicles at a petrol station on the N3 between Hammarsdale and Cato Ridge and found 17 bags of dagga.
"Six suspects were then arrested and charged with dealing or possession of dagga and they are due to appear in the Mpumalanga Magistrate's Court soon facing these charges," he said.
