Sadtu turns to Zuma over Limpopo municipal protest

Teachers' union SADTU will approach President Jacob Zuma today urging him to declare Limpopo villages affected by turmoil in the past few days disaster areas.

The union's Mugwena Maluleke says the army should also help set up temporary structures to house thousands of pupils left stranded.


"We can construct a structure within a day or two. We have seen that happening. We know that the army has been of assistance in many other areas. 


"Therefore, we are calling for a multiple approach on this particular matter, the Presidency must intervene," he said.

At least 13 schools have been torched recently as residents vent their anger over their inclusion in a new municipality.
