POLL: Should Steven Anderson be allowed in South Africa?
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
There have been mixed feelings amongst South Africans on the arrival of controversial pastor, Steven Anderson. Should he be allowed in SA? Vote below.
The American who is expected to arrive this month has made headlines for his anti-gay rhetoric.
An online petition driven by members of the LGBTI community and the SA Human Rights Commission in the hopes of preventing Anderson from gaining entry has since accumulated about 60 000 views.
In his latest video, he has hit out at Home Affairs Minister, Malusi Gigaba.
The Minister said that despite his visit being unbarred, the department may take action against him should he use hate speech during his sermons.
"The truth is, he can’t legally ban me from entering the country because just as much as their ‘non-discrimination policy’ protects sodomites, it also protects people’s religious views and if I believe what the Bible says in Leviticus 20:13 then that’s my view," Anderson says in the footage.
