Police continue to monitor Inchanga amid violence

Two people have been killed in violence there since Sunday allegedly a result of tension between the SA Communist Party and the ANC.

SACP member, Nsiki Blose was killed on Sunday while 38-year-old Xolani Ngcobo, believed to be a member of the ANC Youth League, was killed in the early hours of yesterday morning.

SACP provincial chairperson James Nxumalo, deputy chairperson Nomvuzo Shabalala and Community Safety MEC Mxolisi Kaunda met with political leaders in the area yesterday.

Kaunda's spokesperson Kwanele Ncalane says the police will ensure there's an end to the violence.

"The meeting resolved with all parties pledging to work towards peace and stability but also everybody assuring the MEC that they will co-operate with the work of the police. The meeting resolved that as off now we will be going back to the members to engage with them and make sure they spread the message of peace," he said.

Two arrests have been made in connection with the murder of South African Communist Party member, Nsiki Blose.
