PMB woman mauled to death in dog attack

A woman has been mauled to death by three dogs in Pietermaritzburg.
Emergency services say the attack happened at a house on Braithwaite Road earlier today.
ER24's Russel Meiring says paramedics were unable to immediately attend to the 32-year-old woman as the two rottweilers and a boerboel would not move away from her.
Meiring says a decision was taken to put the animals down so medics can get to the woman.
"Efforts were made in removing the dogs as well as chasing them away. Unfortunately, all of these efforts proved unsuccessful and two of the three dogs had to be put down by the police," he said.
The third dog ran away.
Emergency personnel eventually climbed over the fence to help the woman but she'd already died.
Police have confirmed she is the daughter of the owner of the property. An inquest document has been opened at the Townhill police station.
