PICS: The best of the Rio Olympics closing ceremony
With Caster Semenya being flag bearer for team South Africa at the Rio Olympics closing ceremony, the almost two-week event has drawn to a close.
The tournament that took place from August 5 to August 21 saw the leading country - the United States bag 121 medals overall with 46 gold.
Team South Africa scooped a number of 10 medals - the most that has been amassed by the country's athletes since being readmitted into the Games in 1992.
Fans of the event will now have to wait until the Toyko Olympics in 2020 to relive the action.
