PMB N3 crash: Motorists urged to delay trips
Updated | By Shaun Ryan
Recovery teams are still busy removing ethanol from the tanker wreckage on the N3 near Townhill in Pietermaritzburg.

The Durban-bound carriageway has been closed since early yesterday afternoon after a tanker and several other vehicles collided before being engulfed by flames. Two people were killed in the crash.
The Road Traffic Inspectorate's Zinhle Mngomezulu says trucks are again being stacked on the N3.
Light motor vehicles are being diverted off the freeway at the Midmar interchange.
Mngomezulu's urging motorists to delay their trips as alternate routes are also busy.
"It is quite a process. It is going to take us about seven hours and for the freeway to be opened due to the fact that we are busy decanting the truck. There is a leftover of ethanol on that truck that got burnt yesterday," she said.
She says experts will then assess the condition of the road.
"Once the decanting is completed, we will be getting emergency services to assist with the condition of the roads and the safety. That will include engineers to approve us to open the freeway for motorists," she said.
