More snowfall expected in KZN today
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
The SA Weather Service is again predicting heavy snowfall in the Berg and parts of the Midlands.
The cold front also brought with it heavy rain across the province.
Snow Report SA says it was left slightly disappointed with the amount of snow that fell.
The organisation's Rob Ansell says while several areas recorded snowfall most was on the extreme high ground.
"We looking at heavier falls in the Drakensberg area, the Giants Castle and Champagne Castle areas. We are expecting a lot but that's in the high peaks, so the Sani Pass area as well. We think the snow in the low lying areas is going to disappear slowly and be replaced by rain," he said.
The R617 in Underberg and the R74 near Bergville have both been closed due to the snow.
